Burning Man is just around the corner!
It may seem like there is plenty of time but all you seasoned burners know that it sneaks up on you mighty fast!
If you have any special Burning Man needs, here is the place to get started.

If you are in search of unusual items of services that you can't find anywhere else, the following sites night help you

On the Playa
  Hair Braids
Hair braids rock at Burning Man. If you are in the southern California area and are looking for someone to braid your hair, drop me a line and I will do my best to refer you to a LOW COST hair braider. Average salon cost can be from $ 250 and up but I know of a few independent hair braiders who can do it for around $ 150 or less.

If you want to learn to do it yourself, I suggest visiting the following website....

http://www.btinternet.com/~quinnster1/hair/braids.html

For other DIY hair adornments, please visit...

http://ragdolly.net

if you click on 'straight' you will find a product called 'Chameleon Hair' which is white hair that turns a different color in either sunlight or black light.

Cheap Fabrics?
A wide variety of fabrics can be found for cheap in the Los Angeles downtown fabric district. Take the 9th St exit off the 110 freeway and take it to Maple. There and in that vicinity, you will find many fabric stores including several $1 per yard stores. Happy Hunting!

Other Resources
If you know of a good resource that I have not included here, please email me with the info or link and I will put it up on the links page.

Blacklight Body Paint
For those of you who go looking for blacklight body paints, there are a several options for you.

My first choice for face and body painting is Createx UV airbrush colors. They are non-toxic and water based. These paints are perfect if you just want to be painted for part of the day or for the evening as the paints slough off the skin with water only. If you wear them too long, they can crackle if the paint is not applied heavily enough and it will come off with sweat BUT they will NOT smear. Best place to find these is in any extensive art supply store but they are expensive there....My suggestion is to visit Dixie Art online...they are MUCH cheaper there. Go to www.dixieart.com

Next choice for longer wearing makeup is Kryolan aquacolors cake make-up which does come in UV colors. These set quite nicely but can rub off a little and/or smear AND you need soap and water to get them off which on the playa becomes quite messy. But they look great and glow nicely. These can be found at many beauty supply stores or just go to http://www.fxsupply.com/makeup/krypl.html and scroll down to "UV-Dayglow Aquacolor..." There are other Kryolan UV products listed there as well.

There are other UV products out there, just remember to consider how these body paints are applied and especially how to remove them as you don't want to be scrubbing forever on the playa.
